What to expect

The 2027-2028 Australian Government Black Spot Program is now open for nominations. To help local government practitioners maximise their submissions, the Department for Infrastructure and Transport South Australia will deliver a technical presentation covering common mistakes, key considerations, and best practices when preparing a nomination.

The session will include a worked example, clarification of recent program updates and changes, and insights into what happens after nominations have been submitted.

The Department has also been collaborating with the Centre for Automotive Safety Research to develop innovative road safety methodologies from a network planning perspective. Attendees will gain valuable insights into South Australia's metro network safety planning approach and its application to improving road safety outcomes.

If you work in road safety engineering, transport planning, or a related field, or simply have an interest in road safety, we encourage you to attend this complimentary technical event. The session will also provide an excellent opportunity to connect and network with like-minded professionals.
