What to Expect

In 2023, Transport Professionals Associations (at the time, AITPM) hosted the webinar "What can we learn from China’s active mobility infrastructure boom?", exploring the rapid scale-up of walking, cycling, public space and active mobility infrastructure across Chinese cities. Three years on, this follow-up webinar asks: what has changed in China, what is coming next, and what can contemporary Australia learn from contemporary China?

World Bank Group Sustainable Transport Specialist Sam Johnson will be joined by Chris Bruntlett, International Relations Manager at the Dutch Cycling Embassy, for a 30-minute presentation followed by a 30-minute discussion. Together, they will reflect on recent developments in China’s liveable cities agenda, compare these with the evolving Australian context, and discuss practical lessons for transport professionals seeking to deliver safer, healthier and more liveable streets.
