What to expect
The TPA Transport Modelling Network (TMN) invites you to join us for a seminar exploring how local councils can leverage transport modelling tools to strengthen their capital works planning and funding advocacy.
With the housing crisis placing increasing pressure on infrastructure delivery, having an evidence base on hand has never been more important — yet many councils still lack access to the tools that make this possible. In this session, Clarity Consult will walk through three types of council-wide model frameworks developed using PTV Visum, ranging from traffic and demand models through to full multimodal models, and how each progressively expands a council's planning and advocacy capability.
Michael Smith from Melton City Council will then share their five-year journey — from no in-house modelling capability to independently operating a multimodal demand model that has supported their DCP work and contributed to winning a national award for the Melton Digital Prospectus.
This event is particularly relevant for council staff and managers in Transport, Traffic, or City Infrastructure teams looking to enhance their planning work through data-driven modelling.
