What to expect

A professional industry event focused on crowd management, bringing together experts from planning and operations. The session will explore how large volumes of people can be moved safely and efficiently, with insights drawn from real world projects and major events.

The idea is to bring together perspectives from both planning and operations points of view to create a practical exchange of experience around how large crowds naturally move around vs how they're directed safely and efficiently, especially during major events.

Through a combination of expert presentations and Q&A discussion, speakers will share practical insights from major projects and global events, including lessons learned from both planning and on the ground delivery. The discussion will highlight the interaction between pedestrian movement, public transport systems, and road network operations, with a focus on how these elements can be better coordinated.

The event is designed for transport professionals, engineers, planners, and early career practitioners seeking to deepen their understanding of how crowd dynamics influence transport systems, and how these challenges can be addressed in practice.

Attendees will gain:

- A clearer understanding of the relationship between crowd behaviour and transport network performance

- Insights into the integration of planning and real-time operations

- Practical lessons from major events and complex urban environments

- Exposure to emerging approaches and future directions in crowd and transport management

Registrations close Tuesday 23 June 2026.
