What to expect
This one hour session provides a practical and actionable introduction to Integrated Transport Planning: From Policy to Delivery, drawing on my 30 years of industry experience and recognised subject matter expertise. Participants will learn how to navigate the essential difference between statutory requirements (the minimum legal obligations that governments must follow) and strategic best practice (the evidence based approaches that lead to better long term outcomes).
Using real examples across Australia, we will delve into industry guidance including the Australian Transport Assessment and Planning (ATAP) and Austroads, and commonly used tools and frameworks including Movement and Place and Healthy Streets. We will explore when, who and how practitioners use these resources in practice
This session will be interactive and grounded in real world practice. Participants will leave with clear references, tools, case studies and decision-making prompts that can be applied immediately, bridging the gap between policy intent and successful delivery on the ground.
